Understanding the Circulatory System

The circulatory system is responsible for transporting oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, as well as removing waste products. It consists of the heart, blood vessels, and blood.

Arteries carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart, while veins return oxygen-poor blood back to the heart. Capillaries connect the arteries and veins, allowing for the exchange of nutrients and waste products.

The heart acts as a pump, sending blood to all parts of the body. It has four chambers — two atria and two ventricles — that work together to ensure proper blood flow. The circulatory system is vital for the body’s overall health and function.
